Wallpaper Giveaway!

Hi guys! I hope the weekend was as fantastic as you are :o) This week I’m sharing a wallpaper for your desktops. We get so caught up sometimes in all the crap (pardon my french) around us that we forget to step back and just take in the beauty of nature. This isn’t a new pic admittedly, I took it a few months ago on one of my “I need to run away” road trips (I really like running away, clears the head and all that).  The photo is a simple reminder of how beautiful our small island is and that things aren’t as bad as they seem if we choose to change our perspective a little bit. To download, just right click on either image. Happy Tuesday! Hope the rest of the week is blessed!

Sisters

Hope the weekend was fantastic! It’s time for a nother installment of blog Tuesdays! Yay! This week I feature portraits of sisters. They look like twins although they aren’t and they are super close even though one currently lives on the other side of the world. We did this quick portratit session while the eldest was here on vacation. I love these girls with all my heart!

Secret Garden Themed Wedding!

Today’s post is all about gorgeous decor and beautiful flowers. Even the bees will be buzzing around this one (lol). This wedding really reminded me of the Secret Garden story. This wedding setup was designed and carried out by Tia Flora Luxe located in Montego Bay Jamaica. They are really excellent at making a venue come alive with elegant, simple decorations. Bella! This reception took place in the Sunken Garden (how fitting!) at Hope Gardens in Kingston. You can view more of their work on their fb page here. The cake is by Selena Wong (it was gorgeous!). Enjoy folks and have a great week!

Giovanna & Marcqui

I thought I’d share a few images from this really cool couple’s wedding. They flew down from Brooklyn to have their wedding and this really amazing villa in Montego Bay Jamaica with a few really close friends and family. These folk really had a blast in Jamaica! So much love went into this one. It’s just a few pics, but I’ve inlcued the link to their wedding slideshow below as well. Enjoy!

Jodi & Kemar Engagement Session

Hi y’all! Lol, I dunno know what’s up with the southern drawl right now seeing that I’m in Jamaica, but I’m in a silly kind of mood today :o)

Today I present photos from a really fun engagement session I had with Jodi & Kemar. These two were so easy going and totally into each other. Can’t you just feel the love? I can :o) Look out for their wedding pics which will be gracing these pages soon!

I’ve also started a new company with my friend Nic called The Photo Belles. Right now it is an umbrella company that both our brands fall under that offers amazing destination wedding photography services. We hope to make it grow into a mentorship program for young female artists in the Caribbean and Florida that gives them the tools they need to develop their personal brands and businesses and helps them to find their place on the worldwide web! I have had a lot of struggles with my art and self as a whole so there will eventually be personal and spiritual development stuff as well. It’s in its embryonic stage right now, but we expect it to grow into something great. You can check out our blog and in the about us section there is a link to each of our personal blogs as well.

Bare Beauty Boudoir

Hi everyone,

I hope the Christmas season was a good one! Personally I am looking forward to 2013. I cannot wait! 13 is usually a lucky number for me so I think things will be looking up from here. For the New Year I am going to enter the realm of Boudoir Photography. This is a fun, classy and sexy way for a lady to show that special person in her life just how gorgeous she is and how lucky he is to have her be a part of his life. I have done several boudoir shoots in the past, but could not figure out a way to really advertise that service simply because of the nature of the photos. I totally love and respect my clients and so as a way to protect them I don’t post any of their boudoir shots on the net. As a result I had to find a really brave candidate :o) I won’t disclose who it was though and now I have an ad! Thanks chica ;) So without further ado…

Ain’t it nice! My graphic artist is da bomb! *pops collar*

To find out what exactly Boudoir Photography is you can follow these two links: The Knot & The Week. They both explain it pretty well. Other photographers in the blogger-verse have received permission from some clients to post their work on the web.  Three of my favourite Boudoir Blogs are Jennifer Williams Boudoir Photography, Darbi G’s Sugar & Spice and Racy Steeves.

I’m excited! Hope the weekend treats you well!

Happy 2013 when it comes

Destination Jamaica! Melissa & Russell's Wedding

Melissa & Russell choose to exchange their vows on our beautiful island amoungst a small group of friends and family. They came all the way from Ohio and gave me the honor of documenting this very special day. The Gran Bahia Principe provided the beautiful backdrop for their day. 6 months later, they are totally enjoying married life and gearing up for winter.

Cool ways to display your photos

Some folks are not really sure of what to do with their prints once they get them. Some run out and buy a really great frame so they can display their images in a vareity of rooms in their home. Some photos aren’t so lucky and get boxed, or if they’re digital, filed away in a folder somewhere on their machine. Poor pics :o(

Your photos hold your life’s memories. They remind us of the good times, the happy times (mostly anyway). Sure we can display them on our fb, instagram and pinterest etc, but why not show off those moments beautifully in your home as well? The internet is riddled with ideas for cute, simple and classic ways to display your images. I’ve provided some pics below of a few of my own and a few I found on the net (pinterest mainly lol I am an addict you guys need to seriously get an account!)

A twist on the classic framed print: My wedding clients get their images professionally matted. I usually start the framing process for them. The follow through is pretty simple after that. Sometimes their wedding images lend themselves to interesting framing options. When I was editing photos in the pic below I kept seeing a series in my mind. I took my idea to my framer and the result as you can see was breath taking. :o) I think it’s so awesome!

The image below shows the way all my wedding/portrait photography clients get their images. For this set I added an extra treat by including blue matting as well to compliment the colors their family wore for their shoot.

Accordian Mini books: This is a cute, fun way to share your special day with loved ones. It’s around the size of a wallet photo and it is just too cute!

IMG_0259.jpg

Below are some other cool ideas I found on the net (pinterest mainly hehe). Each photo links to the original blog so you can check out more ideas. I’ve also added another list below with additional links for more inspiration.

Standout Mounts. What these are is one image (sometimes you will see single images as well) printed on gatorboard/foamboard. These are really popular on the web and they usually come ready to hang. I love that this person also has a “picture line”. It’s a cool fun way to show off family pics and it also allows you the option of rotating images.

tamara-buross.jpg

These I absolutely love! A magazine for each year in the family’s history. I mean! Such a nifty idea. And it looks stylish. Which kid wouldn’t want to show off their family albums if they looked as cool as these? This is something I definitely plan to do if I ever have a little brood of my own :o)

Wall clusters are a really neat way to show off not only your family photos, but also your wedding pics, baby pics whichever you choose. I saw this cool one and thought i would creat one of my own. You’ll see it below. They are usully printed on either, metal, gatorboard, wood (sometimes) and as canvas (this is the most popular I find). It’s a really cool way to bring life to your home and show off your family photos in an artistic way.

Jamaica Labor Day Airshow 2012

This is Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of Independence. The big 50! In human years it seems like such a huge number because for some of us it’s halfway through our life cycle. For country, freedom or independence years it’s still an infant. To commemorate the 50th big plans are underway. In my eyes labor day was just the start. I believe this was Jamaica’s first airshow (correct me if I’m wrong). We only had 2 planes and a helicopter, but the people were thrilled none the less. The video below is a short slideshow of a few images I captured there this year. Hope you enjoy!

Just because...Kathryn

It is sometimes amazing to me the people, activities or things that can pull you out of a dark place. I started editing Kats pics in a pretty crappy mood (which wasn’t fair I know, but we all have our days). By time I was done I was almost in a state of bliss. I was completely rocking out, singing and dancing. It was kind of nuts, but then again I’m pretty bonkers.

Kathryn is beyond beautiful and I cannot get the Cover Girl slogan out of my mind every time I look at her pics. Easy, breezy, beautiful describes her perfectly.
